Der Pilot wird von Rainbow SpA und Nickelodeon, beide Teil von Viacom, koproduziert. Zwei italienische Schauspielerinnen, Emanuela Rei und Giorgia Boni, wurden als Hauptdarstellerinnen nachgestellt, nachdem der Pilot für eine ganze Serie beleuchtet wurde. Auf Wunsch von RAI wurde die Serie zuerst auf Italienisch aufgeführt und später in andere Sprachen synchronisiert. Die drei Staffeln von Maggie & Bianca wurden in den Cinecittà Studios in Rom gedreht.
