Louis "David" Riel ist ein kanadischer Politiker, der Gründer der Provinz Manitoba und der politische Führer der Métis in den Nordwest-Territorien vor Manitoba. Er führte zwei Widerstandsbewegungen gegen die kanadische Regierung und ihren ersten Premierminister John A. Macdonald an.
