Peter Hook ist ein englischer Sänger, Songwriter, Komponist, Multiinstrumentalist und Musikproduzent. Er ist vor allem als Bassist und Mitbegründer der britischen Rockgruppen Joy Division und New Order bekannt. Hook verwendet oft Bass als Hauptinstrument und spielt Melodien auf hohen Saiten mit einem charakteristischen starken Chorus-Effekt. Nach dem Tod des Sängers Ian Curtis im Jahr 1980 wurde die Gruppe in New Order umorganisiert und Hook spielte bis 2007 mit ihnen Bass. Hook nahm ein Album mit Revenge auf, zwei davon Alben mit Monaco und ein Album mit Freebass, als Bassist, Keyboarder und Sänger. Derzeit ist er Leadsänger und Bassist von Peter Hook and the Light.
