He created the character Dolemite, the pimp from the 1975 film Dolemite and its sequels, The Human Tornado and The Return of Dolemite. This character was developed during his first comedy shoots. The recordings often feature scenes of Moore presenting rhyming poems filled with obscene language, which later earned him the nickname "The Godfather of Rap."
