Stanley Benton, also known as Stat Quo, is an American rapper, producer, musician and businessman. Benton started college and studied at the University of Florida, where he majored in economics and international business in 2000. Benton was thinking about law school, until the veteran Southern Scarface rapper encouraged him to rap professionally. In February 2003, Stat Quo released the first installment of Underground Atlanta Mixtapes and caught the attention of colleague Mel-Man of Aftermath Entertainment. When Stat Quo in Los Angeles performed at Encore, Mel-Man invited him to Record One Studios, where he met Dr. Dre. That night at Record One, Stat Quo recorded the song The Future with Dr. Dre and released it in the second episode of Underground Atlanta Mixtapes. Underground Atlanta Volume 2 took another route to Eminem and led to Stat Quo's recording deal with Shady Records and Aftermath Entertainment. Stat Quo currently manages Lil Xan and Young Aspect.
