Thomas Beer ist ein US-amerikanischer Biograf, Schriftsteller, Essayist, Satiriker und Kurzromanautor. Beer wurde in Council Bluffs, Iowa, geboren. 1911 schloss er sein Studium an der Yale University ab und studierte von 1911 bis 1913 Rechtswissenschaften an der Columbia University. Er diente auch während des Ersten Weltkriegs. Beer ist vor allem für die Biografien von Stephen Crane und Mark Hanna bekannt seine Arbeit an anderen Amerikanern in den 1890er Jahren, dem malvenfarbenen Jahrzehnt. Er hat drei Romane veröffentlicht - The Fair Rewards, Sandoval: Eine Romanze über schlechte Manieren und Der Weg zum Himmel: Eine Romanze über Moral - sowie mehr als 130 Kurzgeschichten in The Saturday Evening Post. 1927 produzierte Beer mit Hilfe von Eugene Spreicher und Atherton Curtis George W. Bellows: Ses Lithographies, ein Werkverzeichnis, mit Schwarz-Weiß-Lithographien des Künstlers. Eine Sammlung von Biers Kurzgeschichten wurde 1933 unter dem Titel Madame Egg and the Other Barbarians veröffentlicht.
