Claude Giroux
Claude Giroux is a professional Canadian ice hockey player and captain of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League. Flyers chose the 22nd Giroux overall in Draft NHL 2006. He has been captain of the Flyers since January 13, 2013. Prior to playing for NHL, Giroux played his basic career with Gatineau Olympiques of The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he helped the team win the 2008 Presidential Cup and brought back the Guy Lafleur Trophy as the 2008 MVP Playoff. Internationally, he won the same gold medal. Team Canada at the 2008 World Junior Championship in ice hockey. Giroux debuted Flyers in February 2008 and joined the full-time squad between the 2008–09 season. In 2011, after successful deals from Mike Richards and Jeff Carter, Giroux took over the role of the club's frontline center. He was the club's top scorer for the seasons 2010-11, 2011-12, 2013-2014, 2015-2016 and 2017-2018.
