Dennis Earl Green is an American football coach. During his National Football League career, Green coached the Viking Minnesota team for 10 seasons. He has coached Vikings eight times to the playoffs in nine years, despite starting seven different midfield kicks in those playoffs. He was later honored in the Minnesota Viking Ring of Honor in 2018. Green was Vikings' head coach from 1992 to 2001. He was one of the most successful coaches of the 1990s, reaching a record 97-62 as the head coach of Vikings. Green's best season in Minnesota was in 1998, when the Vikings finished 15-1 and set an NFL record for most points in a season at that time; However, the Viking would be upset with the Atlanta Falcons during the NFC Championship match that year, and Green wasn't able to reach the Super Bowl during his successful tenure with Minnesota. After his first loss in 2001, he was fired just before the last game of the season.
