Gus Bivona was an American reedist - comprising a wide variety of clarinets, saxophones and flutes - at the height of the big band era. After WWII he was a musician for the Studio MGM Orchestra, performing on countless soundtracks and versions. He later became a famous assistant to pianist, composer, actor and television presenter Steve Allen. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Bivona began leading her own band, releasing albums under her own name for labels like Mercury and Warner Bros.
