Hee Seo is a Korean ballet dancer who is the principal dancer of the American Ballet Theater, one of the top three classical ballet companies in the United States. She became the company's first Korean ballerina to be promoted to principal dancer in ABT's 75-year history. She is also one of the youngest dancers in ABT history to be promoted to director at the age of twenty-six. The New York Times described her style and dance as "exuding an unwavering purity, summing up all that beautiful in ballet" and Vogue as "indescribably smooth." Some critics have noted her style as "lyrical and open" and she is highly regarded by critics for her "modesty" and "unique feminine power".
