Henry Gilford Picard is an American professional golfer. Born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Picard learned to play golf while jogging at the Plymouth Country Club. Originally a talented footballer in his twenties, he became famous after being coached by senior coach Alex Morrison. As the top player in the PGA Tour in the 1930s and early 1940s, he won two major championships: the Masters in 1938 and the PGA Championship in 1939, where he beat Byron Nelson in the 37th hole of the final. conclusion. Picard played on the 1935 and 1937 Ryder Cup teams, winning both in singles and in one of two pair matches.
