Paula Lima is a Brazilian singer and songwriter whose music is influenced by bossa, percussion, samba, international Brazilian soul and is one of the judges of the Brazilian idol, Ídolos Brazil. Lima's career started by accident but she took part in various school festivals. In 1992, she joined her first group, "Unidade Móvel", which later became "Unidade Bop". In 1995, she was invited to sing in the group Samba, Rock, Funk and Soul, led by Skowa. Lima lists his influences as Quincy Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Elza Soares, Ed Motta, Gilberto Gil, Banda Black Rio and Jorge Benjor. Paula also played the role of Grizabella on stage for Cats de São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in 2010 .
