Among his most famous designs are his Modernist Greenhouse in New Canaan, Connecticut, and the postmodern 550 Madison Avenue in New York, designed for AT&T and 190 South La Salle Street. in Chicago. In 1978, he received a gold medal from the American Institute of Architects and in 1979 the first Pritzker Architecture Award.
