Will Eisner
William Erwin Eisner is an American broadcaster, writer and businessman. He was one of the first animators to work in the comic book industry in the United States, and his series The Spirit has been recognized for his experience in content and form. In 1978, he popularized the term "graphic novel" with the publication of the book A Contract With God. He was one of the early contributors to official comic book studies with Comics and Sequence Art. The Eisner Award is named in his honor and is awarded annually in recognition of his achievements in the comic world; he was one of the first three to be introduced to the Will Eisner Comic Book Fame House.
