Los Tucanes de Tijuana are a Mexican norteño band founded on April 13, 1987, by Mario Quintero Lara and a group of friends in the City of Tijuana, Baja California. The members began their musical career by playing in nightclubs. They are known for singing narcocorridos praising the exploits of Mexican smugglers as well as the murders carried out by the cartels. The band got banned from their home city Tijuana in 2010 after paying their respects to the local drug lord during one of their concert.
