Elena Semikina is a Russian-Canadian actress, producer, executive producer and contest holder. Semikina was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2010 in Toronto, Ontario on June 14, 2010. She represented Canada at the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on August 23, 2010. Semikina trains and directs production of the feature-length documentary Our Man in Tehran, which premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and set the record for the hostage crisis in Iran after Ben Affleck's film Argo, screened at the same festival a year earlier. In January 2020, Canadian authorities accused Semikina of criminally harassing her ex-lover Drew Taylor and his wife Jennifer for a period of five years. Semikina reportedly threatened the two with physical injuries, threatened to bring false charges against Taylor unless he advanced his film career, and threatened to kill him as well. The incident continues.
