Louis in 1944, in which Judy Garland sang three of Martin's songs, "The Boy Next Door", "The Trolley Song" and "Have Yourself a Merry. Little Christmas". “The second of them has become the standard of the Christmas season in the US and the English-speaking world. Martin became Garland's best friend and accompanist for him at a number of his concerts in the 1950s, including his appearances at the Palace Theater
