Jonathan Seth Kellerman is an American novelist, psychologist, and award-winning Edgar author, and Anthony is best known for his famous detective novels starring Alex Delaware, a child psychologist, who advises the Los Angeles Police Department. Born in the Lower East Side of New York City, his family moved to Los Angeles when Jonathan was 9 years old. Kellerman graduated with a doctorate in psychology from the University of Southern California in 1974 and began working as a psychologist at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, where he eventually became professor of clinical pediatrics. He opened a private practice room in the early 1980s while writing novels in his garage at night. Her first published novel, When the Bough Breaks came out in 1985, a few years after she wrote it and got the work rejected. He wrote five bestselling novels while still a practicing psychologist. In 1990, he left his own job to write full-time.
