For her theatrical work, she was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actress in Musical for her role as Carlotta Campion in the film Follies in 2001. Her cinematic works include Cape Fear. and The Caretakers, she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - TV Movie. She hosted her own weekly variety show for one season, was a regular seminar participant on the game show To Tell The Truth, and later played roles in The Sopranos while alive. and Desperate Housewives. She has written three books about beauty, fashion and glamor. She is also the inspiration for Goose Mother in Tales of the Country.
