Roger Crozier
Roger Allan Crozier is a professional Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who has played fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabers and Washington Capitals. During his career, Crozier was once named to NHL's first All-Star Team of the Star, winning the Calder Memorial Cup and being the first player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy while playing for the losing team in the Stanley Cup final. He was the last NHL goalkeeper to start all of his team's matches during the regular season, in 1964-65. From his career in hockey to his death, Crozier suffered from pancreatitis and other health problems. Regardless of them, he helped his junior team win the Memorial Cup in 1959-1960, played over 500 NHL regular games and made three Stanley Cup finals. His health problems led him to his retirement in 1976-1977 and he joined the capital office shortly thereafter. Crozier left Capitals in 1983 to work for MBNA Bank.
