Samuel R. Delany, nicknamed "Chip", is an American literary critic and author. His works include novels, memoirs, reviews and essays on science fiction, literature, sex and society. His novels include Babel-17, Einstein's Interchange, Nova, Dhalgren, Return to Nevèrÿon and Through the Valley of the Spider's Nest. His non-fiction works include Red Times Square, Blue Times Square, About Writing, and eight essay books. After winning four Nebula awards and two Hugo awards during her career, Delany was inducted into the Sci-Fi and Fiction Hall of Fame in 2002. From January 1975 until retiring in May 2015, he was Professor of English, Comparative Literature and / or Creative Writing at SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Albany, University of Massachusetts Amherst and Temple of Philadelphia University. .
