Gaudencio Sillona III, known by his stage name Jay R, is a Filipino American singer and songwriter. In 2003, he released his first album, Gameface, under Universal Records. The album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of the Philippines, received numerous awards and won the first place, "Bakit Pa Ba". Jay R was nicknamed "The R&B Prince" at a young age and is often associated with Kyla. Collectively referred to by fans as "JayLa", they are known in the music industry as R&B Royalties. In 2006, he built a recording studio inside his mansion, followed by a record label called JAYRS Music. Then, he renamed it to Homeworkz Records. The same year, he released a Christmas album, Christmas Away from Home, and dedicated it to his late uncle Reny. The album was re-released in 2008, where he donated the proceeds of the sale to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
