Virginia Hill was born in the Zodiac sign Vierge (The Maiden), and 1916 is the year of the Chinese Zodiac Dragon (龍).
In 1933 she left Georgia for Chicago with her teenage husband George Randell, hoping to enter the pornography business. Once in Chicago, she divorced Randell. She found a job as a waitress at the mob-run San Carlo Italian Village exhibit during the 1933 Century of Progress Chicago's World Fair, and supplemented her income as a prostitute. She soon hooked up with a bodyguard of Criminal Al Capone.

She was born Onie Virginia Hill in 1916 in Lipscomb, Alabama. By the time she was eight, she'd moved to Marietta, Georgia with her mother and siblings after her parents separated. She dropped out of school after finishing eighth grade. In 1951, Time magazine referred to her as the "queen of the gangsters' molls".

While working as a courier in New York City, she met Criminal Bugsy Siegel. They later had an affair in Hollywood and were rumored to have married secretly in Mexico. Four days before Siegel was killed in 1947, she flew to Paris. She later married Hans Hauser, an Austrian skier (and head of the Sun Valley, Idaho Ski School). She died of an apparent overdose of sleeping pills in Austria in 1966 at age 49.
