About The Dream Team

The 1992 U.S. men's Olympic basketball team, better known as "The Dream Team," was a historic men's basketball team comprised of 11 future members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. They won gold at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, defeating their opponents by an average of 44 points.

Achievement of The Dream Team

1992 was the first year NBA players were allowed to participate in the Olympics. The first ten players were named to the team on September 21, 1991. Chuck Daly served as the coach of the team. Charles Barkley was the team's leading scorer during the Olympics, averaging 18 points per game.
