David Russell Wagoner adalah seorang penyair Amerika yang telah menulis banyak koleksi puisi dan sepuluh novel. Dua bukunya telah dinominasikan untuk National Book Awards. Lahir di Massillon, Ohio dan dibesarkan di Whiting, Indiana sejak usia tujuh tahun, Wagoner kuliah di Pennsylvania State University di mana dia menjadi anggota Naval ROTC dan lulus dalam tiga tahun.
