Ahmad Abdalla El Sayed Abdelkader is an Egyptian director, editor and screenwriter. His first feature film was Heliopolis; His second film is Microphone. He studied music in the 1990s and started working as a film editor in 1999. He switched to feature films in 2002 and began doubling as a visual effects supervisor and credit designer. He won the 2008 Best First Screenplay Award from the Sawiris Foundation for Héliopolis. His next film Rags and Tatters was selected in the Contemporary World Cinema category at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Participated as a member of the jury at several film festivals, such as the London Film Festival in 2014 Edition and Carthage Film Festival and others. He first returned to the Singapore International Film Festival in 2014.
