He is considered the hero of the Maple Leafs 1964 Stanley Cup after he fractured his ankle earlier in game six of the season, but returned to score the game-winning goal in overtime. The Leafs would go on to win the next game 4-0 to conclude the best-of-seven series, which saw them secure their third consecutive Stanley Cup championship.
