David Levy Yulee
David Levy Yulee è stato un politico e avvocato americano. Nato a St. Thomas, allora sotto il controllo britannico, era di origine ebrea sefardita: suo padre era del Marocco e sua madre era spagnola. La famiglia si trasferì in Florida quando lui era un bambino, e lui crebbe nelle loro vaste terre. In seguito ha servito come delegato territoriale della Florida al Congresso. Yulee fu la prima persona di origine ebraica ad essere eletta e a servire come senatore degli Stati Uniti, servendo 1845-1851 e di nuovo 1855-1861. Ha fondato la Florida Railroad Company ed è stato presidente di diverse altre società, guadagnandosi il soprannome di "Father of Florida Railroads".
