Uroš Umek, meglio conosciuto come DJ Umek o semplicemente Umek, è un compositore e DJ di musica dance slovena. Musicalmente attivo dal 1993, è titolare di diverse etichette discografiche techno. Nel 1999 ha fondato Consumer Recreation e Recycled Loops, il primo dei quali è co-diretto con Valentino Kanzyani. Recycled Loops ha formato la sottoetichetta Earresistible Musick nel 2001 e nel 2007 Umek ha fondato la grande etichetta techno 1605. Nel 2010 ha vinto il premio Best Techno Artist ai Beatport Music Awards e nel 2013 è stato nominato Best Techno DJ agli EMPO Awards. Nel 2013, ha vinto come Best Techno Track agli International Dance Music Awards e l'anno successivo ha vinto come Best Techno/Tech House Artist. Ha pubblicato singoli e remix su Spinnin' Records e Ultra Records. Dal 2015 UMEK è tornato allo stile techno più scuro e ora pubblica principalmente sulla sua impronta 1605.
