Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is a 2016 American superhero film based on the fictional superhero team the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It is the sixth theatrical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, the second and final film in the reboot series, and a sequel to 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Directed by Dave Green and written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, the film stars Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Will Arnett, Laura Linney, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Alan Ritchson, Brian Tee, Tyler Perry, Gary Anthony Williams, Stephen Farrelly, and Brad Garrett. Principal photography on the film began on April 27, 2015, in New York City. It was released on June 3, 2016, in 3D, RealD 3D, 4DX and IMAX 3D, by Paramount Pictures. It received mixed reviews, with many calling it an improvement over its predecessor. It was a box-office bomb, grossing $245 million against a $135 million budget, resulting in a planned third film being scrapped.
