William Walton Sharman was een Amerikaanse professionele basketbalspeler en coach. Hij is vooral bekend om zijn tijd bij de Boston Celtics in de jaren vijftig, waar hij samenwerkte met Bob Cousy in wat toen werd beschouwd als het grootste verdedigingsduo aller tijden. Als coach won Sharman titels in de ABL, ABA en NBA, en wordt hij gecrediteerd voor de introductie van de nu alomtegenwoordige ochtendshootaround. Hij was de eerste Noord-Amerikaanse sportfiguur die een kampioenschap won als speler, coach en executive. Hij was een 10-voudig NBA-kampioen en een 12-voudig wereldkampioen in het algemeen basketbal, waarbij hij zijn ABL- en ABA-titels meetelde. Sharman is ook een tweevoudige Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame-inductee, die in 1976 als speler en in 2004 als coach werd ingewijd. Alleen John Wooden, Lenny Wilkens en Tommy Heinsohn delen deze dubbele eer.
