Daniel Henry Edward Thompson is een Engelse multi-instrumentalist die vooral bekend staat als contrabassist. Hij heeft een lange muzikale carrière achter de rug bij het spelen met een grote verscheidenheid aan andere muzikanten, met name Richard Thompson en John Martyn.
