Iginio Straffi
Iginio Straffi is een Italiaanse animator, illustrator en voormalig stripauteur. Hij is de oprichter en president van Rainbow SpA, waarvan hij samen met het Amerikaanse mediabedrijf ViacomCBS mede-eigenaar is. Straffi is de maker van de animatieseries Winx Club en Huntik: Secrets & Seekers van de studio, evenals de mede-maker van de stripserie Maya Fox. Op de universiteit publiceerde Straffi zijn eerste strip in een uitgave van Tilt uit 1985. Hij bleef werken als illustrator van stripboeken in de jaren negentig en werd uiteindelijk de leidende creatieve artiest voor de Nick Raider-serie van Sergio Bonelli Editore. In 1995 richtte Straffi Rainbow op met de hulp van Lamberto Pigini en Giuseppe Casali. De studio begon met een kapitaal van 10.000 euro, dat voornamelijk werd gebruikt om computers en software voor digitaal ontwerp aan te schaffen. Rainbow leverde aanvankelijk creatieve diensten aan andere bedrijven totdat het geld voor originele projecten kreeg. In 2004 ging Iginio Straffi's creatie Winx Club in première in Italië.
