Paul David Heaton is een Engelse singer-songwriter. Hij was de frontman van de Housemartins, die in 1986 succes had met de singles "Happy Hour" en de Britse nummer één "Caravan of Love" voordat hij in 1988 uit elkaar ging. Daarna vormde hij The Beautiful South, wiens debuutsingle en album werden uitgebracht in 1989 tot commercieel succes.
