Rolf Undsæt Løvland is een Noorse componist, tekstschrijver, arrangeur en pianist. Samen met Fionnuala Sherry vormde hij de Keltisch-Noordse groep Secret Garden, waarin hij componist, producer en toetsenist was. Hij begon al op jonge leeftijd met componeren en groeide op met studeren aan het Kristiansand Music Conservatory, waar hij later zijn masterdiploma behaalde aan het Norwegian Institute of Music in Oslo. Løvland heeft tweemaal het Eurovisie Songfestival gewonnen en componeerde de nummers "La det swinge" in 1985 en "Nocturne" in 1995 samen met Secret Garden, wat resulteerde in de eerste twee titels van Noorwegen. Hij componeerde ook het nummer "You Raise Me Up", dat volgens Rolf Løvland in een interview met Radio Norge in februari 2010 tot nu toe meer dan 500 keer is gecoverd.
