Sidney "Sid" Sloane is an English television and radio actor / presenter. Born to Afro-Caribbean parents, he grew up on the border of Wimbledon and Wandsworth in South London. He attended Southmead Elementary School and John Griffiths R.C. Secondary Schools. He took the stage name Sidney Sloane when he changed his career as a drama school broker in 1997 at the Creative Training Institute in Brighton, England. A successful audition earned him a starring role in the Belgrade Theater Company's The Twits, which included UK tour number 1. After an invitation to meet several BBC executives and a screen test for a possible presenter role , a formal job offer has been issued. Sloane helped found CBeebies, the UK children's television channel in 2002. He was the channel's only original host when he left the talk group on April 12, 2013. Previously, he was the weekend host at BBC Southern Counties Radio.
