Winfield Bailey has a dry goods store considered "one of the most prestigious stores in St. Albans" and specializes in fur; namely, women's fur coats, shawls and shawls. Bailey attended St. Academy. Albans and graduated in 1896, in one class there were only 11 other students. He then went on to the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, where he joined a fraternal organization, Sigma Phi.
