Berthe Marie Pauline Morisot is a French painter and member of the world of painters in Paris, known as the Impressionists. In 1864, Morisot exhibited for the first time in the very famous Salon de Paris. Sponsored by the government and noted by the Institute, Salon is the official annual exhibition of the Académie des beaux-art de Paris. Her work was chosen to be exhibited in the following six salons until in 1874, she joined the “rejected” Impressionists in their first exhibition, including Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Alfred Sisley. It was held at the studio of photographer Nadar. Morisot continued to participate in all but one of the following eight Impressionist exhibitions from 1874 to 1886. Morisot was married to Eugène Manet, your brother and his colleague Édouard Manet.
