Bruce Douglas Foxton is an English singer, songwriter and musician. Foxton's musical career spans over 40 years. He rose to fame in the late 1970s as the bassist and undersinger of the punk rock and mod revival band the Jam. He sometimes performs lead vocals, as in the songs "News of the World", "David Watts" and "Smithers-Jones". After the band disbanded, he pursued a brief solo career, released a studio album, Touch Sensitive, in 1984, and performed in several groups, including Sharp with former Jam member Rick Buckler, before joining Stiff Little Fingers in 1990. After leaving SLF in 2007, Foxton officially joined Rick Buckler and the members of his tribute band, The Gift, on a tour titled From the Jam.
