Carrie Minetta Jacobs-Bond is an American singer, pianist and musician who composed around 175 famous pieces from the 1890s to the early 1940s. singing lounge "I Love You Truly", becoming the first woman to sell one million copies of a song. A song that first appeared in his 1901 collection, Seven Songs as Unpretentious as the Wild Rose, with "Just Awearyin 'for You," was also widely recorded. The fastest-selling Jacobs-Bond song right after its release was "A Perfect Day" in 1910. An August 29, 2009 NPR documentary on Jacobs-Bond highlighted "I Love You Truly" with "Just Awearyin 'for You" and "A Perfect Day" as its three big hits. Jacobs-Bond was inducted into the Composers Hall of Fame in 1970 .
