Toni-Ville Henrik Virtanen, better known as Darude, is a Finnish DJ and record producer of Eura, Satakunta. He started music activities in 1995 and released hit single "Sandstorm" in late 1999. His first studio album, Before the Storm, was released on September 18, 2000 and sold. 800,000 copies worldwide, winning three Finnish Grammy Awards at Darude. It reached number one on Finland's official list and number six on the US Billboard Dance / Electronic Albums chart. Darude's second studio album, Rush, peaked at number 11 on the Billboard dance music chart in 2003 and number 4 on the Finnish weekly album chart. His third studio album, Label This! was released in 2007. Although it did not reach the high level of his previous albums, Gawker hailed his single album "In the Darkness" as "an uplifting and soothing piece of music. .. it's well composed, easy to dance, and has a deep and unmistakable hook. "
