David Allen Schools is bassist and founding member of American rock band Wides Spread Panic. He is also a record producer, musician and journalist with articles in various music magazines. The school lives in Sonoma County, California with her two dogs; when he's not on tour he loves gardening. School is a bass innovator with a non-traditional approach that gave him a unique voice on the instrument. With his main band, Wides Spread Panic, he plays a six-wire, six-wire Modulus Quantum bass that gives him a wide range of sounds further enhanced by an envelope filter and octave pedal. Influenced by a desire to play the drums and learn the piano as a child, School deviated, without giving up, the established rhythmic role of the bass and created a more improvised melodic style.
