Fleur Adcock is a New Zealand poet and writer of British and Northern Irish descent, who has spent most of her life in England. She is very well represented in New Zealand poetry collections, she received an honorary doctorate in literature from Victoria University of Wellington and an OBE in 1996 for her contributions to New Zealand literature. In 2008, she was awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit Certificate of Merit for her literary service activities.
