Friedrich Daniel Rudolf Kuhlau was a Danish pianist and composer in the late Classical period and early Romanticism. He was the central figure in Denmark's Golden Age and is immortalized in Danish cultural history through his music for Elves' Hill, the first true work of the Danish National Romanticism Circuit and a hidden homage to the Absolute Monarchy. To this day, this version of the air is his final arrangement. Throughout his life, Kuhlau was primarily known as a Danish concert pianist and opera composer, but he was responsible for the presentation of many of Beethoven's works that he greatly admired. Kuhlau was an accomplished composer, as evidenced by the burning of his house, destroying all his unpublished manuscripts, he still left a legacy of over 200 published works in almost every genre.
