Gabriel Iván Mercado is an Argentine professional footballer who plays for Qatari club Al-Rayyan. Mainly a right back, he could also play as a central defender. He began his career with Racing Club and Estudiantes before joining River Plate in 2012, going on to win six domestic and international tournaments including the 2015 Copa Libertadores. In 2016, he joined Sevilla for €2.5 million. Mercado made his international debut for Argentina in 2010, and was part of their squad that came runners-up at the Copa América Centenario, and also took part at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Argentine professional football player who is best known for his work with the Spanish club Sevilla FC. He is known for playing as both a right back and a central defender.
He first began his youth career playing for Racing Club. In February of 2007 he made his professional debut for Racing Club. After a successful run with the team, he moved over to Estudiantes LP. In 2010, he became part of the Argentina national team.
He has won several awards and honors for his playing including the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in 2007 playing for Argentina.
He was born and raised in Puerto Madryn, Argentina.
