Grayson Perry is a contemporary British artist, writer and broadcaster. He is best known for his ceramic vases, penetrating rugs and clothing, as well as his observations of the contemporary art scene and his dissection of British “prejudices, fashion and style”. Perry's urns have a classic shape and are decorated in bright colors, depicting subjects that oppose their intriguing appearance. There is a strong autobiographical element to his work, including an image of Perry as “Claire”, his female ego, and “Alan Measles”, his childhood teddy bear, usually appear. He has conducted a number of documentary shows and organized exhibitions.
