Homi Jehangir Bhabha is an Indian nuclear physicist, founding director and professor of physics at the Tata Institute for Basic Research. Colloquially known as the "father of the Indian nuclear program", Bhabha is also the founding director of the Atomic Energy Facility, Trombay, now named the Bhabha Atomic Research Center to honor him. TIFR and AEET are India's nuclear weapons development platform for which Bhabha is also the director. Bhabha has received the Adams and Padma Bhushan Prize. He was also nominated for the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1951 and 1953–1956.
