Israel Folau is an Australian professional rugby player who plays at the heart of the Catalans Dragons team in the Betfred Super League. He has played Australian rugby and football before. In 2019, he became the record holder for most goals scored in Super Rugby history. Folau played football for Melbourne Storm in the National Rugby League between 2007 and 2008, where he broke the record for most attempts in his first year. After that, he played with the Brisbane Broncos from 2009 to 2010. Playing as a winger or central midfielder, Folau represented Queensland in the home state and Australia, becoming the youngest player to play for both teams. In 2011, Folau joined the Great Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football Championship and played for two seasons. In December 2012, Folau announced that he would convert the code again, this time for the rugby league, and sign a one-year contract with Waratahs.
