Jackie Hill-Perry is an American poet, writer, and hip hop artist from St. Louis. Hill-Perry initially garnered popularity for her performances of spoken word pieces such as "My Life as a Stud", "A Poem About Weed", and "Jig-a-Boo" at the Passion 4 Christ Movement. She has written for various Christian ministry organizations, such as The Resurgence and John Piper's Desiring God, on the topic of Christianity and homosexuality. She signed to the Portland, Oregon-based Christian hip hop label Humble Beast in January 2014, and released her debut album on November 4, 2014.

About Jackie Hill-Perry
Spoken word poet widely known for her infusion of traditional Christian themes with her poetry and hip-hop music. In 2014, she released her debut rap album The Art of Joy.
She famously converted to Christianity in 2008 and, upon doing so, claimed to have converted from a lesbian to straight woman. She began spoken word poetry shortly after her religious conversion.
She recounted her life as a lesbian in her spoken word poem "My Life as a Stud," which was read at the Passion 4 Christ Movement. She appeared as a guest artist on the 2013 album Instruments of Mercy by Beautiful Eulogy.
She married her husband and fellow spoken word poet Preston Perry. The couple have one daughter named Eden.
