Jay Waverly North is an American actor. His career as a young actor began in the late 1950s with roles in eight television dramas, two variety shows and three feature films. At the age of 7, he became a household name for his role as the kind but mischievous Dennis Mitchell in the CBS situational comedy Dennis the Menace, based on the comic book series created by Hank Ketcham. As a teenager, North played roles in two Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer feature films: Zebra in the Kitchen and Maya. He also starred in the NBC TV series adapted from the later series, also titled Maya. As an adult, he moved on to vocal animated dramas, voicing roles as Prince Turhan in the Arab Knight segment of Banana Splits Adventure Hour and a teenager Bamm-Bamm Rubble on The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show. After leaving the show, he revealed the truth about the difficulties he faced as a child actor.
